Cortec's Solutions Successfully Combat Internal Corrosion in Marine Structures
Vapor phase corrosion inhibitors from Cortec can protect steel floats and offshore caissons from corrosion attack.
The corrosion inhibitors manufacturer Cortec® Corporation has recently presented a method for combating internal corrosion in marine structures, offering effective protection for floating docks, pontoons, pilings and offshore platform caisson legs. These structures, which are constantly exposed to damp and high-chloride environments, are particularly vulnerable to rusting from the inside out.
The Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCIs) from Cortec provide a unique and efficient solution. Unlike traditional coatings, VpCIs can be applied inside enclosed spaces, forming a hydrophobic molecular layer that prevents corrosion on metal surfaces. So, their self-applying nature allows them to disperse within the structure by vapor diffusion, similar to how an air freshener fills a room - thus protecting both above and below any residual water collected in the structure as well as offering comprehensive protection even in challenging environments.
